Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.

The Heartbreak of Romnesia

Are you afflicted with the condition Romnesia? Here are some ways to tell.
1. You'll vote for Mitt because you forgot it was the policies of GW Bush which killed the economy and that Mitt is going to do the same squared.
2. You forgot Romney said he wouldn't bother to go after Osama Bin Laden because it cost too much money to get him.
3. You forgot Romney said he will ban all abortion rights for women.
4. You forgot Romney's business experience is as a vulture capitalist who killed companies and jobs in the US and shipped jobs overseas.
5. You forgot about Romney's 47 percent comment where he wrote off half of America as a bunch of lazy bums. Those lazy bums include veterans, serving military, the elderly, students and the very hard working poor.
6. You forgot how to read.

Rolling Stone

Romney's Real Agenda

I know people who are determined to vote for Mitt. And yes, it's their right to vote
for whoever they please.
But I believe being informed about what the agenda is of the person you're voting for is helpful.
Rolling Stone has done a great job in this article.
I highly recommend it.

Warning: The Following Post Is Political. If this Disturbs You turn the page. There must be a story about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes somewhere.

Is it better to remain ignorant? Is it better to pretend what is happening around us isn't happening at all because unlike Superman, Spiderman and every other Super Hero, we only have our vote and our voice as our super power.
It is the old wisdom that no good comes of talking about that thing called Politics. It is the arbiter of disaster, of hurt feelings or anger and frustration.
But to pretend it doesn't exist is to pretend the world is a fairy tale place where lollipops grow on trees, unicorns dance in green fields and the New York Mets win the World Series.
Ignorance is not bliss. To hide from the rough reality of where we stand in this fragile democracy won't change the course of history.
Politics changes the course of history. A Supreme Court appointing a President changes the course of history.
Believing that money trumps the Civil Rights of human beings changes the course of history.
This little super power we hold in our hands called the Vote seems insignificant against the greater tide of History.
But one vote added to another and another becomes a force.
Your informed vote matters.
Of course the Vote as we've known it is currently under attack by a Republican Party determined to have things their own way. Voter id's, false claims of voter fraud used as an excuse to disenfranchise people who don't usually vote Republican hurts us all, even Republicans.
And here I am, discussing Politics, right out here in the open, in the light of day with no apology.
I have only one requirement for discussing politics, taking it to the mattresses, arguing it to the bloody death.
And that is YOU must be informed. Being informed is READING. Yes, crazy, I know. Insane? Who could think READING would be the true path to Democracy?
Why read? Because Facts are beautiful things. And when you're armed with them you have power beyond that of any Super hero.
